The ‘Agility-Cardio’ Workout That Torches Fat Fast

Lots of fit guys look like athletes. But too many runners and gym rats spend their time training in just one direction. So they don’t actually move like athletes.

This agility-cardio circuit will help you change that. It’s a lung-busting interval workout, but instead of doing straight-ahead sprints, you’ll move from side-to-side, change directions, and practice accelerating and decelerating as quickly as possible. 

Think of it as sports performance training that doubles as an awesome cardio and fat loss workout. After all, you’re putting in the time—why not get the best of all worlds?

How to Do It

Arrange 6 cones so that they’re each diagonal from each other. (Check out the setup display in the video above.) Grab a stopwatch. At the top of every minute, perform 10 skater jumps and then run from one cone to the next. Make sure you slow down at each cone—coming almost to a complete stop—before running to the next one. Then rest for the remainder of the minute. That’s 1 round. Repeat for 10 to 20 minutes.
